New Bagel Food Truck debuts in Lugano after Kickstarter success

Lugano, Switzerland – This week, a new food truck debuted in Lugano, Switzerland after being successfully funded by a Kickstarter campaign where over 60,000 francs were raised to help buy the vehicle.

Sean, a native New Yorker, was introduced to the world of bagels from an early age, making them a regular part of his weekend routine. In fairness, New York City is the pioneer of bagels. Upon moving to Lugano, he was surprised to find that fresh, authentic bagels were not readily available. Inspired by his love of the classic New York bagel, Sean embarked on a journey to recreate his favorite snack.

After years of perfecting the craft and delivering bagels locally, Sean was joined by his friend Brett, which led to a significant expansion of Ghost Bagel. Together, they began to attend local markets and organize pop-ups, introducing their delicious bagels to a wider audience. This growth solidified Ghost Bagel’s presence in Lugano’s culinary landscape, proving that with dedication, passion, and a delicious product, a small idea can turn into something truly special.

To expand the business, the pair took to Kickstarter and managed to raise the required funds to be able to buy a food truck, with further ambitions of owning a standalone, physical store. Recently, the new food truck was acquired and serves bagels to Lugano locals.

While this story may not be quite over just yet, it shows what the power of crowdfunding is capable of and that it doesn’t matter where you are in the world as the language of street food is universal.
